BOROFLOAT® glass panes are highly resistant to water, neutral and acidic solutions, strong acids and salt solutions as well as chlorine, bromine, iodine and organic substances.

Even with longer exposure times and temperatures above 100°C, their chemical resistance surpasses most metals and other materials.
Exposure to water and acids causes only small amounts, mainly monovalent ions, to be dissolved from the glass. In the process, a very thin, low-porosity silica layer forms on the glass surface, which inhibits further attack.
